Emergency nose gear up landing of Saudia Airlines flight SV3818 operated by an Onur Air Airbus A330-200
On 20th May 2018 a Saudi Airlines flight no. SV3818 operated on an Onur Air Airbus A330-200 (TC-OCH) which was scheduled from Median to Dhaka was suddenly diverted to Jeddah when it suffered from a malfunction of the Noise Gear.
The aircraft was able to fly and without the Nose Gear being deployed. Many of the passengers onboard were hurt but were safely evacuated from the aircraft on the runaway from emergency slides.
The aircraft after taking off from Median was only 30 minutes into the flight when the pilots noticed the malfunction and decided to head for Jeddah. The aircraft went through some holding over the Red Sea and approached the Jeddah Airport at around 825 feet where it went under another hour of holding.
The aircraft at around 18:22 UTC made a second approach to the airport and came around to make an emergency landing after half an hour later.
On 22nd May the airport authorities started to remove the aircraft starting by lifting its Nose Gear. According to the media reports around 50 passengers got badly injured during this emergency landing.
