On 10th November 2018, President Donald Trump was scheduled for a journey to the Belleau Wood, a place located 55 miles northwest of Paris city. The travel plans were scheduled to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The place, Belleau Wood is the place where the US soldiers held their post and made a breakthrough battle against the German invasion to Paris shortly after the war started in 1917.
Aisne-Marne American Cemetery at Belleau is the place where 2289 US servicemen and commemorates are buried along with 1060 others who also fell at Belleau Wood.
The President of America travels to other countries on the US personal aircraft Marin One and the security of the travel plans like other things to president’s safety is determined by Secret Service.
President has the option to travel by the chopper VH-3D primarily or any other chopper operated by HMX-1. The helicopter in use is assigned the radio call sign “Marine One”.
Paris was covered with clouds of drizzling rain throughout the Saturday morning.
President Trump was scheduled to travel with his other VIP subordinates in one of the “White Tops”; VH-3Ds and VH-60Ns. Normally three of the US Military’s “Green Tops” Ospreys accompany “Marine One” on its flight. These tilt-rotor aircraft also fly the Secret Service agents that follow marine One and escort the valuable passengers from the helicopter in case of an engine or other unexpected failures.
There is no known information as to when the White House and Secret Services staff canceled this trip neither the information about the weather conditions on the route is unknown.
Normally for the aircraft that is carrying either POTUS or any other VIP personnel for a low altitude trip, many weather conditions like fog, rain, low ceiling, and wind are taken into consideration. In case of any of these problems, the trips can be canceled.
