British Airways; the Airbus A380 make a return from its destination of Los Angeles to London Heathrow after engine failure

On November 6th, 2018, one of the Airbus A380 of the British Airways departed from London’s Heathrow Airport at about 16:05 UCT. The flight number BA269 was headed from Heathrow Airport o the Los Angeles Airport.

However, after one hour into the flight, pilots reported controlling tower a problem with the engine 4 of the aircraft. The problem occurred when the massive aircraft was passing the West Coast area of Scotland. The control tower issued a return back to Heathrow Airport. The pilots burned some more fuel on their journey back to reduce the landing weight.




Airs A380 after departing for about four hours and fifteen minutes again made its landing on the Heathrow Airport at about 20:20 UCT.

One of the British Airways spokespeople said to media in a statement, “we are sorry for the delay that our customers suffered on their travel plans. The flight is returning to Heathrow due to some minor technical issues. Safety is always the top most priority of our airline and our trained flight crew members always err on the side of caution”.

At the moment, the flight number BA269 has been canceled.
