Boeing announces first flight of new 777X aircraft to takeoff in 2019

In recent news from Boeing Company, they have brought together the major fuselage sections for the first 777X Aircraft. They also announced that the very first Boeing 777X plane will soar into skies in 2019.

To this date, Boeing has received a total of 334 orders from several renowned airlines like Emirates, Etihad Airways, Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines.




In this final body join of the aircraft, the company announced that they have connected the airplane’s nose, mid and aft sections together. The body joining has been carried out at the company’s factory located in Everett, Washington.

Josh Binder, vice president, and general manager of the 777X told media, “The 777X is a new airplane and a new productions system. The production system for the 777X has been integrated into Development faster than any other airplane in our company and we are also doing a great job in reaching our milestones”.

The 777X aircraft has been designed based on the designs of the 777 and 787 Dreamliner aircraft that will offer the airlines to have the largest and most efficient twin-jet aircraft in the world. The airplane will also have the 12 percent reduced fuel consumption along with 10 percent lower operating costs as compared to other airplanes in its comparison.

The first model of the 777x will be the 777-9 airplane which will offer to seat to around 400 to 425 passengers in standard configuration. The airplane will also travel at a top speed of about 7600 nautical miles or 14057 km/h.

The windows of this airplane will be larger and will be located higher on the fuselage as compared to 777 Dreamliner. The cabin will also be much wider with new lighting and enhanced architecture.

The static ground testing for this aircraft has been carried out in September 2018 and the first flight for this aircraft is scheduled to take off in 2019. As for the first delivery to an airline, it is due in 2020.
