The today’s video presents the unloading of an AH-64 Apache Helicopter from a C-17 Globemaster III.
Before we get to the video lets think for a second about the aircraft that is able to the transport he massive war titan of a helicopter from one army base to another. The name C-17 Globemaster III is actually quite a big name in the world of Air Force and particularly for USAF. The aircraft act as the military transport aircraft for purpose of transporting military items ranging from parts of fighter jets to entire helicopter to tanks and huge loads of military explosives.
The aircraft was first manufactured by USAF and the cooperation of McDonnell Douglas back in the late 80’s to early 90’s era. The name C-17 Globemaster III has been derived from its previous ancestors
- C-75 Globemaster
- Douglas C-124 Globemaster II
Both of these ancestral planes were piston engine military cargo planes for the USAF.
Few of the duties performed by C-17 Globemaster III are as follows.
- Tactical and Strategic airlift missions
- Transporting large troops
- Transporting military cargo
- Medical evacuation
- Airdrop duties
The original purpose behind manufacturing this plane was to replace it with Lockheed C-141 Starlifter as well as perform some of the duties of the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy. Aside from being in service for USAF, the aircraft is also in service for the following few countries of the world.

The final model of C-17 was built at a Boeing manufacturing plant at Long Beach, California and took its first flight on 29th November, 2015.
