American Airlines; flight diverted due to bad weather, Captain orders forty Pizzas for passengers

Dyess B-1 made an emergency landing in Midland; crew members were presented with Distinguished Flying Cross

On September 6th, 2018 an American Airlines flight headed from Los Angeles to Dallas was diverted from its original travel plans and was landed in the smaller Wichita Falls Airport. The flight was being carried out by an Airbus A321.

The flight which landed in Texas was eventually canceled and the pilot of the aircraft got a brilliant idea to calm down the frustrated passengers. He ordered in for 40 pizzas from the local Papa John’s Pizza. Afterward, he distributed all these pizzas among the passengers.

One of the spokespeople for the airlines said, “This was ingenious, I have never seen something like this before in my life”.

As for captain, he said this to the media, “it 2was actually a team effort. My co-pilot was looking for hotels for rooms to accommodate our passengers and the cabin crew and our cabin crew was distributing drinks among passengers.
