A passenger aboard the United Airlines was left infuriated when she was told by the cabin crew manager that her crying baby is “completely unacceptable”. The mother was flying with her husband from Sydney to San Francisco on 25t September 2018.
The passenger; Krupa Patel Bala was travelling with her eight months old son and her husband on a business class flight aboard a UA 870 when the baby suddenly started crying.
After about five minutes the cabin crew manger came to her husband and started to yell at him saying that the crying of a baby for this long is “Absolutely Unacceptable”.
Bala told the crew manger Linda that explaining as to why baby can’t stop crying is quite stressful to which Linda asked her to discuss it in economy class. There she told Bala that it is in rule book that Babies are not allowed to cry for more than five as stresses out the crew members.
Bala posted a long lengthy and furious post about this whole incident and posted it on Facebook.
She also later said that her family is no longer going to fly United Airlines again.
United Airlines made an apology for this whole incident and said to media tat they have been in touch with the passenger and we also met the passenger upon her arrival for an apology. We offered her a refund and that this behavior is not something we deem acceptable fro our customers and especially our youngest customers.
United Airlines released a statement saying that, “Young families are welcome on our flights and also on our business class flights. We are currently reviewing the incident and the flight attended is currently on suspension pending the whole investigation.”
Bala later updated her post that she has spoken with many United Airlines’ representatives like captains and crew members and they have all been nice. The only one who remains unapologetic is the crew lady Linda for some reason. She also said that Airline is also reviewing this incident to make sure that flight attendants don’t make up rules to create inconvenience for passengers.
