Two of the Sudan Air Force’s military planes crash into each their during the landing

Two Soviet-era Antonov military aircrafts collided with each other during landing on the airport in Sudan’s capital; Khartoum.

A video of the whole incident has been released which shows two Sudanese Air Force aircraft landing on the same runway behind one another. Due to this one aircraft came crashing into the other pane at high speed.




According to the airport officials, “ this Soviet-era Antonov aircrafts landed within seconds of each other when the incident occurred.”

Another official told media, “as a result of the two milt ray planes crashing at Khartoum airport, eight people suffered injuries who were transported to Hospital”.

Sudanese Military is yet to make any comments on this accident.

Other than videos, many pictures of the accident have also surfaced on the internet. One photo clearly shows that as a result of the collision, when the plane lost its entire nose section.

Aviation bloggers have identified these two aircraft as Antonov An-26 and Antonov An-32.

Planes which are made by Ukraine aircraft manufacturing company are used for the purposes of surveying and transport missions.

At the moment, Sudanese Air Force has eight of the An-26 and six of An-32.

This Wednesday incident has been the third massive blow to the Sudanese aging military fleet in less than one month period.

Back on 21st September; Sudanese army suffered the loss of a military jet in a crash near Omdurman near the West Bank of Nile. This also led to the death of the two pilots.

Before this accident, a military helicopter crash-landed in Darfur. Luckily all the passengers on board of the helicopter were saved before helicopter caught fire.
