    Singapore Airlines; the world longest flight launched by the airline

    Singapore Airlines as officially announced the world’s longest flight from Singapore to New York.

    This first longest ever commercial flight was launched for the first time on October 11th from Singapore to New York. The plane took flight from Changi International Airport and arrived in Newark Liberty International Airport a day later. The total duration of the flight was about 17 hours and 52 minutes.

    Airbus A350 900ULR | Crewdaily

    The route is being operated by the all-new Airbus A350-900ULR (ultra long range) aircraft. The service will be initially served thrice a week on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. All flights will depart from Singapore. Other daily operations will commence from 18th October once the additional A350-900ULR comes for service.

    Passengers on board for this world’s longest flight were treated with an exquisite traveling experience. The passengers were given the food prepared by the chefs and nutritionists o the Canyon Ranch. The menu was created by the International Culinary Panel of Chefs.

    For well being of customers, the cabin lightings were set for rest and relaxation ambiances. Aircraft’s body is designed to have high ceilings, large windows and extra wide body for reduction of jetlag.

    In Flight entertainment provided to passengers was also one of a kind as the flight introduced the experience with ‘myKrisworld’; a personalized IFE feature for providing content based on passenger’s recommendations.

    Singapore Airlines’ CEO, Mr. Goh Choon Phong said to media in a statement, “We are proud to present the world’s first ever longest commercial flight with our new Airbus A350-900ULR. We are also excited to provide pour customers with improved connectivity from Singapore to the USA. This is a testament to our commitment to putting our customer’s needs ahead of our own”.

    This same aircraft will also be used to provide flights from Singapore to Los Angeles from November 2nd, 2018.
