Lately, a flight attendant of the Emirate Airline has been accused of stealing about 7000 dollars (18500 UAE dirhams). The money was stolen by the attendant from three brothers who were tending to their sick father.

This alleged thief of a flight attendant stole the 7000 dollars in cash from the three brothers’ wallets on a flight headed from Thailand to Dubai back in June. This is the first of its kind instance to be heard by Dubai Court.

According to media sources, brothers noticed the occurrence of theft after they left their belongings unattended for a few moments in the business class.

One of the 43 years old bother’s told the prosecutors of the case, “my brothers and I went to check on our father. When we returned, it checked my wallet and noticed that nearly 3700 UAE Dirhams were not in my wallet. My other brothers also noticed that nearly 14800 dirhams were missing from their wallets as well. We alerted the cabin supervisor of the incident. Supervisor took us into the business class alley and took the photo of the money that was not stolen from our wallets. The notes which had been stolen had serial markings in sequence with the notes we had in our possession. After the plane landed, police took our belongings and examined the fingerprints. They searched the whole plane but money was never recovered.”

A female flight attendant has been fund as a suspect of the alleged theft. According to the police, one of the fingerprints on the brothers’ belongings matched with this alleged female. The female has pleaded not guilty. The trial is still continuing.
