A Jet Airways Boeing 737-800 headed to Jaipur was made to head back to Mumbai on September 20th, 2018 after suffering problems of cabin pressurization. The flight 9W-697 climbed up to 10,000 feet when several of the onboard passengers started complaining about nose bleeds and ear pains. The issue of cabin pressurization caused the oxygen masks o to be deployed and the emergency services were waiting for the 155 passengers and 5 crew members at the airport.

According to some news sources of India, the pilot seemed to have forgotten about pressing the Bleed Switch due to which pressure in the cabin could not be maintained. Jet Airways has taken that certain pilot in question off duty pending the investigation.

After the incident, Jet Airways issued a statement in which they stated that “jet airways flight 9W-697 headed from Mumbai to Jaipur made a return to Mumbai after the loss of cabin pressure. Boeing 737 aircraft which had 155 passengers and 5 crewmembers onboard made a safe return to Mumbai airport. Guests were deplaned safely and transported to the air terminal. First aid was provided to those passengers who complained about nosebleeds and ea pains. Cockpit crew has been taken off duty until the investigation concludes. The airline is also making alternative flight passages for the passengers of that certain flight. Jet Airways strongly regrets the problem caused to passengers”.

Someone on the aircraft happened to capture a video of passenger breathing through oxygen masks when the plane was headed back to Mumbai Airport.
