Hungarian Ministry of Defence orders 16 new Airbus H225M multi-purpose helicopters

The Hungarian Ministry of Defence has recently placed an order with the Airbus for the 16 new H225M multi-purpose helicopters that will also come fully equipped with the HForce Weapon management System.

In addition to the delivery of these helicopters, Airbus will also provide the Hungarian pilots with an extensive training and support package for providing the Hungarian Air Force the maximum level of operational availability.




These new helicopters will come equipped with state of the art communication capabilities and will be used mostly for the following purposes.

  • Transport
  • Combat search and rescue operations
  • Special operations missions

The helicopter comes with one of a kind Avionics and four-axis Autopilot system, exceptional range and payload capabilities; all of which is a  large cabin which is able to carry nearly 28 troops. The helicopter is designed to be able to operate in all weather supported with its night vision goggle compatibility.

There are nearly 88 of these helicopters in service all across the globe. They have recently crossed the 100,000-flight hours mark since its first delivery to the French Air Force back in 2006.

Since its first delivery, this aircraft has proven its durability and reliability in multiple combat environments and crises.

With this contract placement, Hungary is the 9th country in the world to have selected H225M in their Air Force military arsenal. This is military variant helicopter is currently operational in countries like France, Brazil, Mexico, Malaysia, and Indonesia with other beings recently placed by countries like Kuwait and Singapore.
