Arkansas Police Release Footage of Violent Helicopter Crash

A video footage from the Arkansas Little Rock Police Department has been released by the police department which shows the time when one of its helicopters seemed to lose control as it was undergoing equipment testing back on 8th August 2018.

The chopper was the 2011 Bell TH-67 that was parked outside the police department on a flatbed trailer. One moment the rotary blades were spinning as the chopper began to rise in air. This is when the disaster struck as harsh winds sent the plane crashing down on the side.

The video has been posted on the Facebook page of the Arkansas Police Department.

In the video a man can also be seen urging the pilot of the helicopter to ground the helicopter and turn off its engine just moments before the aircraft turned on its side resulting in the rotary blades to be destroyed and the shards of destroyed helicopter body to fly into the air.

The pilot of the helicopter; retied officer William Denio suffered from major head injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition has now stabilized.

Denio was testing the helicopter’s battery when a straight line wind caused it to tilt on its side. The chopper is now beyond repair according to the report from the Little Rock Department’s spokesperson.

The footage of the incident is as follows.
