On 5th November 2018, the crew members of the Agusta A-109 Helicopter which belonged to the Belgian Air Force noticed a sinking fishing vessel named Lainey.
The sinking vessel was also carrying two crew members on board the ship and the ship was sinking at a distance of approximately 6 miles north-north-west of Wells.
The aforementioned A-109 helicopter was on a training mission when they discovered these unfortunate fishermen and they decided to quickly save them.
The lowered down a raft boat into the water and held the position above them to assist the oncoming UK coastguard to pinpoint the location of the incident.
Windfarm vessel named Seacat Magic also came to assist until the Wells lifeboat came two minutes later. The Lainey sunk with its two crew members wearing life jackets held on to life rings were stranded in the water for about 20 minutes.
The coastguard quickly recovered these two fishermen on to the lifeboat and gave them first aid.
At about 15:06 local time a rescue helicopter 912 arrived there from Humberside. The helicopter took the two fishermen from the lifeboat and headed towards Norwich and Norfolk Hospital. Both men were shortly released to return home.
