Woman delivers baby mid air; Etihad Airways flight diverted from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai

On 24th October’s morning, an Indonesian woman reportedly gave birth to a child mid air on an Etihad Airways flight. The flight was headed from Abu Dhabi to Jakarta on Wednesday morning. The news has been confirmed by Etihad Airways officials. Following the emergency medical protocol, the flight was immediately diverted to land on Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. After landing the ambulance on the standby took the woman to the Seven Hills Hospital in Andheri East. The woman and her child are now alright and are recuperating. An Etihad Airways spokesperson said to media, “today on a flight EY474, headed from Abu Dhabi to Jakarta was suddenly diverted to Mumbai, India after a medical emergency happened on board. As a result of this diversion, the fight will be delayed for 2 hours before it arrives in Jakarta. We regret any inconvenience caused to our passengers. We at Etihad Airways take the security of our guests and crew as our highest priority”.
