Volga-Dnepr Airlines; first of many responding airlines to deliver vital equipments for the tsunami in Sulawesi

Volga-Dnepr Airlines has been amongst the first responding airline to provide vital equipment to the afflicted of Sulawesi tsunami. The airline delivered generators along with a water purification system to Indonesia in their efforts to support the international humanitarian mission. Indonesia recently suffered from a cataclysmic earthquake which also led to a terrible tsunami that struck the Sulawesi Island at the end of September 2018. The equipment was transported by one of the Volga-Dnepr Airlines modernized freighters; IL-76TD-90VD. The freighter took flight from Chalon Vatry Airport located in France to the Indonesian City of Balikpapan. After arriving with the generators and the water purification system that weighs about 29 tons, they will be transported to worst affected areas of Indonesia. With this equipment, a large number of afflicted people will be able to receive electricity and pure water. Volga-Dnepr Airlines even after 28 years of supporting humanitarian missions across the globe is still the first of many airlines to give immediate responses. At the start of September, one of the Volga-Dnepr Airlines pale was able to deliver 69 tons of food and water to the Guam Island where people suffered from Typhoon Mangkut. Since the early 90’s Volga-Dnepr Airlines has responded to call of reliefs to all across the globe.
