USAF Heritage Flight Program: The Flying Museum

The USAF Heritage Flight Program is the United States Air Force Heritage Flight Program which was created back in 1997 in order to celebrate the 50 years of the created of the United States Air Force. The USAF Heritage Flight Program uses the aircraft from the World War II-era as well as from the other major conflicts like the Vietnam War and the Korean War. The formation of the USAF Heritage Flight Program is consistent with the 2 or more than 2 aircraft with each of them representing different operational eras while they make their fly passes past the spectators.  Normally there is one pass from right to left and then the final pass from the back of the crowd. In between these passes, the aircraft operators performed the separation maneuvers for creating a separation between the aircraft which has followed a second later by the single simultaneous roll by all of the aircraft in the formation flight sequence. During these flypasts, the music is played via Public Address System and the music which is usually played during the USAF Heritage Flight Program flypasts is for the song titled “We Remember” by the artist named Dwayne O’Brian. Birth of Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation:- It was back in 1903 when the Wright Brothers made their first prototype of an aircraft and it flew for the very first time as the first-ever man-made aircraft. It was the one that started and pushed the world in the age of aviation. Now more than 10 decades have passed since that fortunate day and the industry of aviation ahs made tremendous progress. Each of the world’s aviation forces ahs its won unique fleet of aircraft used for multiple purposes and out of them the most advanced is the United States Air Force is known for its air superiority.   In order to honor the valor of all the people who have served for the United States Air Force or are carnality serving, a foundation by the name USAF Heritage Flight was formed back in the 90s. The USAF Heritage Flight Program is comprised of 10 pilots which are all either the existing serving rot he retired pilots from the USAF. The duties of the team are to perform somewhere in between 40 to 60 airshows every year as they display the flight capabilities of the USAF’s past aircraft. The purpose of flying these old fighter aircraft is to honor the brave men and the women who made ultimate sacrifice for the sovereignty of the country. USAF Heritage Flight Program’s memorable performance:- The USAF Heritage Flight Program is a nonprofit organization that only has a primary mission of charity to provide the education and inspiration of the heritage flights to the Americans. Major Craig Baker, who is the pilot for the Air Combat Command Viper Demo Team, said, “We only wish to inspire the public of America and also inspire the future generations of the Long Blue Lines. We also wish to inspire those who are currently serving for the USAF and also to give our thanks to the ones who have done their part before us for fighting for this great nation.” One of the grand performances carried out by the USAF Heritage Flight Program was the massive flyover during the 2018’s NFL Super Bowl match. During this flyover, 2 of the A-10C Thunderbolts II along with one P-51 Mustang and one F-16 Fighting Falcon flew over the opening ceremony of the Super Bowl held at the US Bank Stadium located in Minneapolis. This USAF Heritage Flight Program not only performs well over 50 airshows across the United States but they also perform the parades or funerals as well. Aircraft used in the USAF Heritage Flight Program:- The main idea behind the USAF Heritage Flight Program is to serve the role of a flying museum to display the might of airpower of the USAF in skies. The demonstration teams of the USAF Heritage Flight Program make use of the aircraft from the major US conflicts like World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. These flights act as the living memorial for the brave pilots who served during these conflicts. Seeing a fighter aircraft flying alongside the 5th generation fighter like the F-22 Raptor is pretty cool, don’t you think? Major Baker says, “When I see the film of the flyover after it is done, I am reminded as to how special this Flight Heritage really is. The common link between the USAF Heritage Flight Program is the pilots. Today the pilots flying in the undisclosed location for top-secret national missions are linked to that aviator of the World War II era. They are now fighting for the same freedom that the past pilots fought for and now we are enjoying it and also protecting it. The fighter aircraft from the previous century during the USAF Heritage Flight Program are as follows. P-51 Mustang F-86 Sabre P-38 Lightning P-40 Warhawk P-47 Thunderbolt A-1 Skyraider In some selected air shows, the United States Air Force also flies alongside the pilots of the USAF Heritage Flight Program. During these selected airshows, the aircraft used by USAF are as follows.
