Qatar Airways plans to increase its Airbus A350-1000 fleet

According to latest news of aviation, Qatar Airways will be getting more of its extra large A350 airliners from Airbus after changing its previous order. Qatar Airways had been the first airline in the world to fly the biggest carrier a year ago; Airbus A350-900. Now this year it is still the first airline in the world to fly the even bigger air carrier, the Airbus A350-1000. Qatar Airways has three of these massive planes in its airline fleet. They even placed an order with Airbus for five new A350-900 carriers this year but recently they have changed this order. They have now changed the order to having five more new Airbus A350-1000’s for its fleet. Akbar Al Baker; CEO of the Qatar Airways Group said to media in a statement that, “since after we received our delivery for the new Airbus A350-1000 back in February of 2018, we have been very pleased with its performance. This has compelled us to change our previous order. This new generation aircraft has been well received by both us and our passengers who are clearly enjoying the comforts and technology that this new one of a kind aircraft has to offer”. A350-1000 is 23 feet longer than the previous A350-900 and also offers 28 percent more capacity for their Premium Class Cabin. In addition to this, this aircraft has Rolls Royce’s newest Trent XWP-97 engines. These engines offer better fuel efficiency. This fuel efficiency is handy for Qatar Airways as they are currently being forced to fly longer routes as a result of the regain political dispute. If many of you might not know, Qatar is currently a pariah of sorts to its neighboring countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain which stops Qatar from using these countries’ airspace for travelling. Guillaume Faury; Airbus Commercial Aircraft Chief said to media that, we are pleased that our delivery of Airbus A350-1000 to Qatar Airways has lived up to its expectations of providing increased comfort for its growing long route flights”.
