Military Aircraft That Are Flying Right Now (Part 5)

Well, guys, this is our last list related to the military aircraft that are flying right now. We have brought to you many amazing state of the art aircraft that are defending their country’s air space day and night with the talented pilots manning these aircraft. Some of them are decades older but they are still operating in this modern age of technology is a testament to their advanced systems which were ahead of their times. So let’s end this journey with the last list of Military aircraft that are flying right now (part 5). Mikoyan MiG-29 aka “Fulcrum” Mikoyan MiG-29 is the multirole jet fighter that is currently serving in the Russian air space as their first line of aerial defense. There are literally no other 4th generation jet fighters like MiG-29 and the Su-27 that strikes the fear in the heart of the F-16 fighter jet pilots like these two. The aircraft was designed and manufactured during an era when the need for a multirole jet fighter was indispensable for the mission objective. The aircraft is one of a kind when it comes to stealth attacking as many countries have reported the air strikes from an alleged MiG-29 especially during the Georgian Crisis of 2008. During that time, Russia denied the existence of any such aircraft to be making attacks on their behalf. In the current times, however, the aircraft is set to be replaced by the new and upcoming fight generation jet fight MiG-35 which is supposedly a counter to the US F-3 5 Lightning II. B-21 Long Range Strike Bomber The B-21 Long Range Strike Bomber is the strategic stealth bomber that has been serving the USAF since 2015. The B-21 Long Range Strike Bomber was built with a concept to replace the US army’s aging fleet of the B-117 and B-2. The primary target of keeping these longs range strategic bombers in the fleet of and Air Force is because they can easily evade the detection of any radar by flying at extremely high altitudes as well as make a delivery of a nuclear ordinance before even the air defenses of the enemy are scrambled. The B-21 Long Range Strike Bomber looks quite similar in design to the famed B-2 in its avionic design. The aircraft only has a minimum amount of information related to it as most of its program has been funded and carried out in complete secrecy. McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II The McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II has been serving for the air force of both US and UK since 1985 as their Ground attack jet fighter. Although the McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II has been actively retired from the active duty of the RAF, it has still provided a huge leap forward when it comes to aeronautical engineering. The McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II belongs to the Harrier family of jump jets which are able to make VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and landing) to provide the possessor a great close air support option along with ground attack capability. The aircraft served for the UK and US for nearly 20 years and is still in the service of US. The aircraft saw major action during the Persian Gulf War where it made may distinctive contributions. It is still under USAF’s banner for the war on terrorism being carried out in Afghanistan and Iraqi region. The McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II is set to be replaced by the new and upcoming fleet of F-35B. Lockheed-Martin F-22 Raptor The Lockheed-Martin F-22 Raptor is stealth jet fighter which has air superiority and is serving for the USAF since 2005. For an enemy of US, there is nothing scarier for them than to see suddenly a Lockheed-Martin F-22 Raptor at a close range. The reason is that their aircraft which is a 5th generation stealth jet fighter has minimal radar cross section making it nearly impossible to be seen at radar. The Lockheed-Martin F-22 Raptor underwent several revisions until it was approved for the active duty in US military. The aircraft with its Mach 2.2 speed and other state of the art avionics has earned itself the title of being one of the coolest jet fighters of modern era. Eurofighter Typhoon The Eurofighter Typhoon is not a project of single country neither it is serving for any single country. The aircraft is a multirole jet fighter that came into being as a joint product of the innovation form the Germany, France, and UK’s aviation engineers. The aircraft has been serving for the air forces of all three of these countries since 2003. All these countries were in need of a jet fighter that could keep up with an increased demand of a modern jet fighter with complex electronic warfare capabilities. The design of the Eurofighter Typhoon is quite similar to the Swedish air force’s Saab Gripen as well with the design of French Dassault Rafale. The aircraft falls in the category of the Mach 2+ speed aircraft family and can provide better of its capabilities for not only land but also on naval missions. Shenyang J-31 aka “Falcon Hawk” The Shenyang J-31 which is also known by its nickname of Falcon Hawk is the stealth class multirole jet fighter of the Chinese Air Force which has been serving in active duty since 2018. The Chinese fight generation multirole stealth jet fighter has been under speculation of the aviation experts of the western powers as to what truly is the aim for the Shenyang J-31 or also known by its other moniker ‘Snowy Owl”. In one recent air show in China, the Shenyang J-31 was seen to be maintaining its altitude based on the power provided from the afterburners. Instead of keeping this stealth fighter to themselves, China seems to be willing to export this aircraft on a wide range to other countries. Aviation experts have confirmed this aircraft to have a reduced radar cross section which is even more reduced when compare with the 4th … Continue reading Military Aircraft That Are Flying Right Now (Part 5)
