On October 31st, 2018 an Israeli Air Force F-16I Sufa belonging to the 119 Squadron, also known as “The Bat” Squadron, was reported damaged at the Ramon Air Base located in Israel. According to the inside sources, the pilot of the aircraft lost its braking action during the landing when it was taxiing. The pilot only had one option to save the aircraft with minimal damage and it was to veer the aircraft into a ditch nearby. The pilot veered it safely into the ditch and stopped its taxi. With this emergency maneuver from the pilot, the lives of the ground crews were saved along with aircrew to escape the aircraft safely. The whole incident is still under investigation and as of this moment, there are still no reports about the extent of damage sustained by aircraft. According to further inside news, the aircraft was making a return from a training mission but based on the news and images after this crash, the aircraft seems to carry at least one live GBU-38 JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munition).
